Red Star Bar and Grill – An All American All Star

Red Star Bar and Grill is American through and through. My husband and I come here if we want a really great sandwich for a reasonable price in a chill atmosphere.

Honestly, there is just something about this place. It is off the beaten Fells Point path meaning less tourists stumbling inside intoxicated. The interior is gorgeous: exposed brick, high ceilings, and great fixtures while feeling intimate and cozy. If this house were for sale, I would buy it. Since we can't, we just hang out here.

We have ordered a lot on this menu and I have come to a conclusion. This place does sandwiches and burgers; although, a few other dishes have surprised me as well. Last fall, I ordered a pumpkin curry soup that I swear is one of the best soups that I ever had. It was like tasting autumn in a bowl. Amazing. But if it is your first time here, order a sandwich and you won't be disappointed.

The past time we came here my husband ordered his old faithful, the French Dip, and I ordered the Smokey BBQ Burger wrap. If you want something healthier, then I love the California wrap.
The best part about the French Dip is the au jus. Some restaurants make their au jus from a packet, yuck. At this place you can tell that the au jus is fresh and homemade. The bread has just enough crunch while being the perfect size to dip the sandwich.
My sandwich was sinful but delicious. I love that it is a cheeseburger with all the fixins in a wrap. Everyone thinks you are eating healthy because it is a wrap but you know that it is decadent bacon cheeseburger. The fries are deliciously seasoned with fresh garlic and spices. I also loved stealing my husband's au jus for dipping my fries for an added bonus.

Red Star is an awesome hang out for a laid back evening with great sandwiches and beer. It is the type of restaurant that keeps calling you back for more.
